Workshops

Workshops sponsored by PAW are open to all U.Va. faculty and videotapes of most workshops are available in the TRC library. Past and future workshops include topics such as the following:

  • Where and how to publish
  • Making time for writing
  • The changing nature of academic publishing and/or scientific writing
  • Mentoring graduate student writing
  • What kinds of writing and publications matter to promotion & tenure committees
  • Guidelines for grant writing

PAW: Academic Writing Workshops around Grounds

The U.Va. School of Medicine regularly offers a series of workshops through its Faculty Leadership Program, many of which may be of interest to other University faculty, particularly social science, science or engineering faculty members who write NIH Grants proposals or for medical journals.
